Yaba, Phensidyl seized, 7 held
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested seven people and seized 1650 pieces of Yaba tablets, 400 bottles of Phensidyl and Tk 40,000 in cash from their possession in separate drives at Khilgaon and Paltan in the city on Friday night.
The arrestees are Rafiqul Islam, 28, Faridul Alam, 20, Nur Nabi alias Nur Kabir, 20, Amin Babu, 21, Helal Uddin, 25, Khademul Islam, 40, and Marzina Akhar Rupa, 24.
A DB official said they seized the contraband drugs and money from a building in Khilgaon and City Heart Market in Naya Paltan areas and arrested them.
In primary interrogation the arrestees confessed that they have been running the illegal business for many days bringing Phensidyl and Yaba from the border area, the official added.
