Two held with fake notes in Ctg
Police arrested two persons along with fake currency notes worth Tk 30,100 from the city's Wasa area on Friday.
The arrestees were identified as Rafiqul Islam alias Raju Dutta, 38, of Jhalakathi, and Md Forkan, 30, of Anwara upazila in Chittagong.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the two from near the Shaheed Minar replica in Wasa area around 10:30pm and seized fake notes of different denominations from them.
Police said the arrestees were members of a syndicate engaged in fake note trade.
Of the two, Rafiqul was arrested on similar charges in March last year and was jailed for 19 months, said police adding that, he recently got released on bail.
