8 of a family hurt in N'ganj gas blast
Eight members of a family, including a child, were injured and three rooms gutted in an explosion of gas line at a house in Paikpara area of the city on Saturday night.
Fire fighters and locals said the house of Manik Mia caught fire around 2:00am when the gas line exploded.
The fire soon engulfed the three rooms of the house while the family members were sleeping, leaving them injured.
The injured are-- Manik Mia, 65, his wife Aleya Begum, 55, their daughters Sumona, 38, Jhumona, 25, Nadia, 20, and sons Al-Amin, 18, Amor, 13, and Sumona's son Sajib, 4.
Of the injured, Manik, Sumona, Jhuma and Sajib were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while the others were admitted to Narayanganj General Hospital.
