Today is the 6th death anniversary of Enayet-ullah Khan, founding editor of the daily New Age and former editor-in-chief of the weekly Holiday, says a press release. Khan passed away in Canada at the age of 66 after suffering from cancer. He started his journalism career in 1959 in the then Pakistan Observer and founded the weekly Holiday in August 1965 and took over as its editor in 1966. He also founded the daily New Age as its editor and publisher in June 2003. He was also the editor of the Bangladesh Times and awarded the Ekushey Padak for excellence in journalism. Khan served as a minister of the government of Bangladesh and as an ambassador to China, North Korea, Cambodia and Myanmar. He was president of the Jatiya Press Club and the Dhaka Club. Born on May 25, 1939 in Mymensingh, Enayetullah Khan was the third son of the late Justice Abdul Jabbar Khan, a former speaker of the Pakistan National Assembly.
