BNP never believes in self-criticism

The Awami League (AL) believes in self-criticism to correct its mistakes whereas the main opposition BNP never do self-criticism rather exercises “internal feuding”, said AL presidium member Obaidul Quader yesterday. Quader made the remark after giving reaction to Acting BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's thanks to the AL leader. Fakhrul has thanked Obaidul Quader recently for criticising the government over the killing of Narsingdi mayor Lokman Hossain and fresh price hike of fuels. “Mirza Fakhrul has thanked me after quoting only two lines from my recent comment. He did not mentioned what I told before and after the two lines. So, giving thanks to me by Fakhrul is not positive rather negative,” said Quader while briefing reporters at the media centre of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Quader, also the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on the information ministry, said Mirza Fakhrul has been engaged in an “ill political competition” to gain secretary general post of BNP permanently from his existing status of acting general secretary.
