Fire guts four shops in Ctg
At least three furniture shops and a tea stall ware gutted in a fire in Bhanur Bazar area of Bhatiari in Chittagong on Sunday night.
Fire brigade sources at Agrabad Fire Station said the fire originated from electric short circuit in a shop around 12:00 midnight. The blaze soon engulfed to other shops.
It is estimated that valuables worth around Tk 2.5 lakh were burnt to ashes in the blaze, said the sources.
On information, two units from Kumira Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the flame after four hours of their efforts.
