Hacked trader dies
A trader allegedly hacked by his co-trader in the city's Jatrabari area succumbed to his injuries after 14 days at a city hospital early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Wahiduzzaman, 38, of Hasnabad, Keraniganj.
The victim's family claimed Wahid gave some money to a trader of Jatrabari Mohammad Mamun for business purposes. At a stage, Mamun refused to pay back the money and called him over phone to come to his house on November 1.
Mamun, in a preplanned way, hacked him at his house at Chandnihat. Later, he was rescued from a nearby road and admitted to a private hospital, family members said.
Police arrested Mamun and his wife Sabera in this connection.
