Workshop on gender reporting
A two-day long workshop on 'gender sensitive reporting' begins at Theatre Institute, Chittagong (TIC) yesterday.
Bangladesh Resource Centre for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK) and organisation for Women's Development in Bangladesh (OWDEB) jointly arranged the workshop.
The first day of the workshop highlighted the gender concept and style of gender sensitive reporting and stressed media's role in establishing gender equality and sensitivity in the society.
Using appropriate words and terminologies in gender sensitive reporting was taught at the programme.
The workshop provided participants with an opportunity to enhance the understanding and awareness of the issue.
Journalists from local and national newspapers took part at the workshop.
