Law Minister Shafique Ahmed yesterday said the law should incorporate rules for keeping and trying juvenile criminals in a different manner away from that of adult criminals. He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a workshop on the proposed draft of Child Act 2011. The social welfare ministry and the legislative and parliamentary affairs division of the law ministry jointly organised the workshop at a city hotel. The law minister said a system of camera trial can be introduced for juvenile criminals as way of cautionary innocent children to keep away from crimes. Social Welfare Minister Enamul Haque Mostafa Shahid, who presided over the inaugural session, said 40 percent of the country's people are children and 0.2 percent of these children are involved in crimes.
