Events on Youth Day
The government has taken all necessary preparations to celebrate the National Youth Day 2011 on December 8.
This year's theme of the day is "Call for Change: Employment for Youths."
To observe the day successfully, an inter-ministerial meeting was held at the Ministry of Youth and Sports with State Minister M Ahad Ali Sarkar in the chair.
To mark the day, the government will publish posters, banners and supplements in newspapers. Radio and televisions will air special programmes upholding the significance of the day.
On the occasion, 15 youths and youth organisers will be awarded in recognition of their outstanding performance in self-employment.
Youths and Sports secretary Mahbub Ahmed, DG of Youth Development Directorate AKM Manjurul Haque and senior officials of different ministries were present at the meeting.
