Accused in 9 cases killed in Narsingdi
Unidentified criminals hacked a youth to death in the district's Uttar Nagoriakandi last night, 15 days after mayor Lokman Hossain's murder.
The victim, Masum, 25, is wanted in at least nine cases, police said.
SM Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station, said primarily police consider that this killing has no relation with the Lokman Hossain murder.
The murder took place at a time when many members of law enforcement agencies and intelligence officials were staying in the district to investigate Lokman murder.
Rivals of Masum suddenly attacked him around 8:15pm and fled the scene, witnesses said.
Masum was rushed to the local hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
A case was filed with the police in this connection.
