PM apprised of war crimes trial
The prosecution team, which is dealing with war crimes cases, yesterday apprised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the progress of trial against the war crimes suspects.
Four members of the team led by Chief Prosecutor Ghulam Arieff Tipoo informed the premier of the progress of the trial at her Bangladesh Secretariat office after a regular cabinet meeting.
Without disclosing the details of their talks, Prosecutor Syed Haider Ali, who was present there, told The Daily Star that they paid a courtesy call on the prime minister.
“We have discussed all the issues relating to the war crimes trial,” he said.
Later, PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told reporters that cabinet members also discussed various aspects of the trial process.
