Woman killed in road accident
A woman was killed in a road accident on Satkhira-Kaliganj road at Kaliganj in the town on Thursday night.
Vikarunnesa Begum Mina, 48, wife of Md Shafiquzzaman of Sultanpur area in the town, died instantly.
Police said a truck rammed a motorbike, carrying the woman, around 8:30pm.
Our Correspondent from Rangpur adds: Moynul Haque Ansary, ADC of Kurigram, along with four other people was injured in a road accident on Rangpur-Kurigram highway at Mirbag in Kawnia upazila yesterday evening.
Police said the accident occurred at about 05:00pm when a jeep carrying the victims skidded off the road as its driver lost control over the steering.
The injured were given first aid.
