Ctg fires cause Tk 22 lakh damage
Valuables worth around Tk 22 lakh inside twenty shops and six houses were gutted in two separate fires in Chittagong yesterday.
The first fire originated from an oven inside a house at Pantah Chilla Bazar area of Sitakunda upazila around 12:20am and spread to an adjacent house and 20 shops, gutting valuables worth Tk 20 lakh.
It took three hours for two units from Kumira fire station to douse the fire, said Agrabad fire station sources.
The second fire originated from an electric short circuit inside a house at Buchir Para village of Satkania upazila around 1:15pm and spread to three adjacent houses, gutting valuables worth Tk 2 lakh.
It took one hour for two units of Satkania fire station to douse the fire, the sources added.
