Two women 'commit suicide'
Two women allegedly committed suicide at Badda and Kamrangirchar in the city yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Minara Begum, 18, wife of Mohammad Russel and Rozina Begum, 19, wife of Mainul Islam.
Badda Police Station Sub-Inspector Dewan Koushik Ahmed said Minara lived at Satarkul Uttarpara and worked at a nearby sweater factory.
In another incident, Kamrangirchar police recovered Rozina's body around 2:00pm from their house at Khalifar Ghat in the area.
Her husband Mainul Islam, a rickshaw-puller, told the police that he had quarreled with his wife in the morning, returned from the Buriganga after taking bath and found the door of the house locked from inside. He along with the neighbours broke open the door and found his wife hanging from the ceiling.
