Int'l Confce of chartered accountants begins Sunday

The International Conference of Chartered Accountants will be held for the first time in Bangladesh on Sunday, creating an opportunity for dialogue between accounting professionals from home and aboard. The four-day conference aims to bring together the chartered accountants and accounting professionals to share the experiences, ideas and challenges that they face in their countries, said Parveen Mahmud, president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). The event, organised by ICAB, will be held on the theme "Best practices and reporting for sustainable development" on November 27 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city, Parveen said at a press briefing in Prothom Alo Conference room yesterday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to be the chief guest. Over a hundred delegates from Europe, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal are expected to join the conference alongside the 700 Bangladeshi delegates.
