Students of Nasirabad Government Boys' High School in Chittagong city spent a creative and eventful day learning English during the English Language Fair at the school premises yesterday. The fair, aimed at improving the proficiency of secondary school students in English, is being jointly organised by The Daily Star and Robi in coordination with the education ministry under English in Schools programme. The Lion King, an animated film, was screened at the beginning. Over 120 enthusiastic students from different classes then took part in spot quiz, vocabulary test, one word question and quick questions based on the film. Afterwards, prizes were distributed among the winners and an English language club was formed. The school's English teacher Hossain Ahmed said such initiatives could help students rid their fear of learning English.
