Nazrul Islam passes away
Nazrul Islam, former lawmaker and a founding leader of BNP, passed away yesterday at the city's Square Hospital at the age of 86, said a press release. He left behind his wife, one son and two daughters to mourn his death. He will be buried at his ancestral graveyard at Patia in Chittagong after namaz-e-janaza at Laldighi Maidan at 10:00am today. He was the son-in-law of former governor Jakir Hossen of East Pakistan. At his death, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, president of Chittagong city unit of BNP, Shahadat Hossen, general secretary and other district leaders of the party expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
