Road crashes kill three
Three people were killed and another injured in separate road accidents in Chapainawabganj and Rangpur yesterday.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports: A tractor fell into a ditch beside Naogaon-Rajshahi Highway in Manda Ferry Ghat area of Manda upazila in Naogaon around 4:30am yesterday, leaving its driver Mintu Mia dead on the spot and two others injured, said Abdullahel Baki, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station.
The injured were identified as Sohel Rana, 20, and Rezaul Islam, of the upazila.
Sohel succumbed to his injuries on his way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital while Rezaul was undergoing treatment at Manda Upazila Health Complex.
In Rangpur, a rickshaw puller Jaynal Abedin, 40, of Razarhat upazila in Kurigram, was injured seriously when a pickup-van hit his rickshaw on Rangpur-Kurigram Highway at Mahiganj Bazar in sadar upazila yesterday evening, said police and witnesses.
He died at Rangpur Medical Collage Hospital on arrival.
