Mirsarai tragedy survivor dies
Nayan Shil, one of the Mirsarai tragedy survivors, succumbed to his injuries at Apollo Hospitals on Thursday night, raising the death toll to 44.
The class-VIII student of Abu Torab Bahumukhi High School died around 9:30pm, after more than four months of the accident.
Bashudeb Shil, cousin of the deceased, told The Daily Star that Nayan was under going treatment at the hospitals since September 7.
On July 11, this year, a truck carrying over 70 students from a football match plunged into a roadside ditch in the upazila of Chittagong, leaving 39 students dead on the spot.
Five others, including Nayan died after the tragic accident.
Mohammad Gias Uddin, Mirsarai upazila chairman, expressed shock at Nayan's death.
