India to build dam with govt help
Says Hafizuddin
Former Water Resources Minister Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed yesterday alleged that India will build Tipaimukh dam with the ruling party's direct assistant, reports private television channel ntv yesterday.
The government did not take any initiative to stop this project, he said at a press conference at his residence in the city.
"BNP raised its objection during the tenure of former president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia also objected at least three times through sending formal letters to the Indian government," he said.
The BNP leader said the present government failed to take any strong step against this project.
