Protest against Tipaimukh dam in Sylhet
Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (Bapa) staged a protest in Sylhet yesterday to raise voice against the India's unilateral move for Tipaimukh dam project in the state of Manipur of India.
Addressing the rally during a human chain styled 'Barak Mohonai Protibad' (Protest on Barak estuary) on the riverbank at Amolshid on Zakiganj border, the speakers said the dam would not only cause disaster for north eastern part of Bangladesh, it would also create a havoc in Manipur, Assam and Mizoram states of India.
