$1.35m Swiss grant for disaster recovery strategy
Switzerland will provide US $1.35 million to develop a comprehensive disaster recovery strategy for Bangladesh.
This contribution is meant to support the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) led “Early Recovery Facility (ERF)” project, said a press release of the Swiss Embassy in Dhaka yesterday.
UNDP will implement the project in partnership with the food and disaster management ministry, local and international NGOs, private sectors and financial institutions.
The project intends to put in place an effective, comprehensive and evidence-based nationwide early recovery coordination mechanism complemented by major humanitarian agencies like the UN, developing partners and NGOs.
