Five JCD men injured in BCL attack
Five activists of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) were injured at Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday as Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) workers attacked their procession on the campus.
The injured were admitted to different clinics in the city, sources said.
Witnesses said the university unit of the JCD led by its Convener Arafat Reza Ashiq brought out a procession on the campus welcoming first year students.
In front of the university Deans Complex, a group of BCL activists led by Habibur Rahman alias Habib, Zahirul Haque alias Zakir, Faisal Ahmed and Atikur Rahman attacked the procession with iron rods and sticks.
RU Proctor Prof Chowdhury Muhammad Zakaria said he would take steps after investigation.
