BNP leader sent to jail in Pabna
A judge of a court here yesterday sent a BNP leader and Pourasabha commissioner to jail on his surrender before court, court sources said.
BNP leader and Pabna Pourasabha Ward No-11 commissioner Faridul Islam Dalu was sent to jail as he was an accused in Awami League (AL) leader and Pabna municipality chairman Sheikh Sahidullah Bacchu murder case, they said.
He surrendered before the District Judicial Court at noon and prayed for bail, but judge Sunil Chandra Pal rejected his petition and sent him to jail.
Earlier, Dalu took bail from the High Court. He remained absconded after cancellation of the bail.
Sheikh Sahidullah Bacchu was killed in Tebunia in Sadar upazila on April 4, 1997.
