Sabuj was 8 when the murder took place
A teenage boy is in Barisal central jail as an accused in the sensational Tera Shahjahan murder case.
Sub Inspector Mir Kasem on October 27 last year submitted charge sheet against 51 accused including Mayor Mujibur Rahman Sarwar in the case.
In that charge sheet, Md Nur-e-Alam Sabuj was also accused along with his father Abdus Sobahan. Police on December 2 arrested Sabuj, a student of class six, from his house.
According to the birth certificate issued by Barisal City Corporation, Sabuj born November 15, 1994. He is only 13 years now and was 8 years when Tera Shahjahan was lunched on September 16, 2003.
Mir Kasem, investigation officer of the case, later acknowledged that without physical verification, he included the name of Sabuj in the charge sheet as witnesses stated that he was 9 years old.
Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Khan Saied Hassan said he will look into matter.
Tera Shahjahan, one of the top terrorists in the city, was lynched by a mob.
His wife Shahanara Parvin Renu on September, 2004 lodged a case against 20 people. Police submitted final report in the case on October 22, 2004.
After one eleven, Shahanara Parvin lodged a fresh case June 5 last year with the Sadar upazila magistrate court.
After investigation police submitted charge sheet against 51 people including mayor Sarwar as the alleged mastermind behind the murder.
