Shibir's vandalism at Charmichael College condemned
People in hundreds joined a rally and human chain at Court Square yesterday, organised by Rangpur Press Club, hailing the caretaker government's decision to set up a full-fledged university in Rangpur.
Speakers at the rally also condemned the recent vandalism by Islami Chhatra Shibir on Charmichael College campus.
The rally was presided over by Rafique Sarker.

Hailing the declaration of Chief Advisor Fakruddin Ahmed, they said the interim government should take up a project immediately so that the proposal is not lost after an elected government is installed.
This is an epoch-making decision taken by the caretaker government, which will fulfill a long cherished desire of people of northern districts, they said.
The government should also take decisions on pipeline gas supply and create a division comprising eight northern districts, they said.
The speakers vehemently criticised Jamat-e-Islami teachers who allegedly instigated Shibir cadres to vandalise the college campus.
Meanwhile, police identified that 14 out of the 68 people arrested from Carmichael College are Shibir activists.
