AL leader passes away
Sheikh Kamrul Islam Rois, a close associate of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and an organiser of freedom fighters during the Liberation War, died at Renesa Hospital in the capital yesterday. He was 68. He was buried in Gopalganj Municipality graveyard after namaj-e-janaja on the premises of Gopalganj Court Masjid in the afternoon. He was a member of National Council of Bangladesh Awami League and president of the Gopalganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was involved with different social and cultural organisations in the district. He left behind wife, four sons and two daughters. His kulkhwani will be held at his Gopalganj residence on Friday.
