Our football

In all respects, our football is in a mess now. Even after several decades, our national football team could not reach the sub-continental level. The most popular sport of the country is in disarray, as if it lacks everything. This is the exact time to find out through an all-out investigation who are responsible for the current state, what are the causes behind the massive failure in this particular sport, and consequentially we'll find how to improve our position in this regard. Two recent reports regarding football are worth mentioning here. One, many national level football players are trying to earn their livelihood through doing some shabby jobs where they are a misfit. How unfortunate we are as a nation that we can't nourish and nurture even our top players. Two, the short tenure of a coach who is no longer friendly with our football bosses. There are ample past instances of such things. Some pertinent matters should get priority. 1. Arrange funds. 2. Give adequate time & support to the coach. 3. Select/elect true experts of football to lead the Football Federation. 4. Introduce monthly payment system for the national level players so that they can concentrate only on the game. 5. Ensure job security for the players after retirement. 6. Start junior level football tournaments so that real gems can be traced out. Last, but not the least, it is the players who bear most of the responsibilities to improve our standing with their talent, hard labour, technique, quality, dedication, love for the game, love for the country and so on. One day cricket in our country was confined to a small class but it's now becoming a popular sport. The cricketers showed the way. So it's a lesson for all of us.
