2 get life for murder in Ctg
A court here yesterday sentenced two murderers to life term rigorous imprisonment (RI) for killing one person named Arifur Rahman Helali in Panchlaish area here on January 21, 1993, court sources said.
The convicts are Mainuddin Azad and SM Yusuf alias Maruf.
The court of First Additional Metropolitan Judge Akhter Hossain pronounced the verdict.
Each of the convicts were fined Tk 2 lakh, in default, to suffer three years more RI.
Prosecution story, in brief, is that the convicts stabbed Helali, son of a retired first class magistrate Abdul Hai to death at Badurtala under Panchlaish police station (PS).
The court pronounced the verdict after hearing 16 witnesses.
