Action against Hallmark urged
The government should take stern actions against Hallmark Group as it continues to grab lands violating a High Court order, green activists demanded at a human chain yesterday.
They also demanded the industrial company to stop its activities, which are detrimental to the environment.
The activists made the demands at the human chain programme organised by Paribesh Bachao Andolan (Poba) in front of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University, said a press release.
Despite a High Court order to stop construction work for four months in Savar-Hemayetpur residential areas, the company continues to grab land illegally and harass the landowners, alleged speakers.
