Loco masters of Bangladesh Railway (East) are reluctant to run Chittagong University (CU) shuttle trains, railway officials said yesterday morning. In a three-hour long meeting held at Bangladesh Railway (BR) headquarter in Chittagong, General Manager of BR (east) Tofazzal Hossain said the shuttle train drivers are unwilling as they are continuously harassed by some CU students. He requested the university authorities to take stern action against the culprits. Md Sirajuddoulah, proctor of CU, said they will consider the request and asked the BR authorities to increase the number of compartments in the shuttle trains. On August 5, a driver of a shuttle train was allegedly abducted by BCL activists.
