Obituary
Muhammad Aez Uddin, father of journalist Alpha Arzu, passed away at his residence in Sherpur yesterday morning. He was 74.
He left behind his wife, three daughters, a son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at Rajbollovpur Jame-Mosque, Sherpur Pouroshova field and Surjodi High School field.
He was buried at his family graveyard at Surjodi in Sherpur following Esha prayers.
Aez Uddin was a senate member of the University of Dhaka (DU) and was involved in the teaching profession since graduating from DU in 1969.
He was one of the organisers of freedom struggle during the War of Liberation in 1971.
He was involved with different social and cultural organisations in Sherpur and Jamalpur.
