Large amounts of liquor, Yaba seized, one arrested
Around 80,000 litres of locally made liquor and 5, 245 pieces of Yaba tablets were seized in separate drives in Bandarban and Chittagong city yesterday.
In Bandarbnan, a mobile court fined five people Tk 10,000 each for keeping the liquor in Lama upazila.
Led by Executive Magistrate Mohammed Shamim Hossain, the court conducted drives at different places of Aziznagar from 10:30am to 2:30pm in the upazila.
In Chittagong, a man was arrested with 5, 245 pieces of Yaba tablets from Eidgah area yesterday.
Police said they nabbed Aminul Haq, 50, with the banned items from his residence around 1:45pm.
A case was filed with Double-Mooring Police Station in this connection.
