Traffic cop dies as truck hits him
An on-duty traffic police was killed instantly after a truck ran him over at Mohonpur upazila in Rajshahi yesterday afternoon.
The deceased is Habildar Nazrul Islam, 43, of Sariakandi upazila in Bogra.
The incident occurred when Nazrul, standing in the middle of a road in Keshorhat municipality, signalled the truck to stop for checking but the vehicle ran him over and sped away.
Mohonpur police sent the body to Rajshahi Medical College morgue for autopsy and are investigating the matter.
