2 die in road crashes

Two people were killed and two others injured in road accidents in Natore, Chittagong and Dinajpur yesterday. Our staff correspondent from Chittagong reports, a microbus driver was killed as the vehicle collided head-on with a truck at Harbang Point in Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar. The deceased is Abu Taher, 35, of the upazila. Our Natore correspondent, Nazrul Islam, 35, of Sadar upazila, was killed when a power-tractor hit his motorbike from behind on Natore-Taherpur road in Shibpur area of the upazila. Our Dinajpur correspondent adds, two teenagers were injured as a bus hit their motorbike at Ghatpara village in Chirirbandar upazila. The injured are Khademul Islam, 19, son of Abdul Khaleque, and Akram Hossain, 16 son, of Abdur Rahman, of the upazila. The two were learning to drive motorbike on Dinajpur-Dhaka highway while the Dinajpur-bound microbus hit the vehicle. Locals blocked the highway around 2:00pm for three hours, demanding a speed-breaker on the road.
