The MPO-listed teachers and employees belonging to a pro-opposition teachers' orgnisation continued their agitation for the second day yesterday. They vowed to remain on the streets until their demand of job nationalisation was met. Under the banner of Shikkhak Karmachari Oikya Jote, several hundred teachers and employees started the sit-in before Jatiya Press Club around 10:00am. The jote has been observing an indefinite strike since January 10 to press home their demand. They left the place around 3:00pm due to human chain programme organised by Awami League-led 14 parties. Meanwhile, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at an annual prize giving ceremony at University Women's Federation College urged the teachers to return to homes and join their respective institutions.
