Indictment hearing deferred
A Dhaka court yesterday deferred until March 3 the hearing on charge framing against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and five others in connection with Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
The court passed the order following a petition filed by her counsel. In the petition, the counsel said Khaleda had earlier filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the legality of the case.
The HC dismissed the writ petition on December 14, 2011.
Later, Khaleda also filed a leave to appeal petition with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court against the HC order.
