HC grants bail to Rizvi
The High Court yesterday granted anticipatory bail for two months to BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a vandalism case.
The case was filed with Paltan Police Station on charge of vandalising a city corporation garbage truck during the opposition's countrywide road blockade on December 9 last year.
Yesterday, the HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice Md Jahangir Hossain passed the order after Rizvi appeared before it and filed a bail petition.
Sagir Hossain Leon, a lawyer for Rizvi, told the Daily Star that his client confined him to the Nayapaltan office of BNP from December 9 until yesterday to avoid arrest.
