<i>Star</i>-Lanka Bangla drawing contest held
The premises of the Institute of Fine Arts Chittagong were abuzz with school kids as hundreds of them took part in a daylong drawing competition yesterday.
All of the participants, around 500, were awarded certificates while three winners from each of the three age groups under which they contested received prizes.
Aged 4-12, the children came from different schools in Chittagong city.
With the theme, “Borner Uchchhashe Bangla Amar†(The colours of Bangla), the contest was organised by Lanka Bangla Foundation in association with The Daily Star.
Dr Md Jashim Uddin, director of the Institute of Fine Arts, was the chief judge of the competition.
Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, vice president and managing director of Lanka Bangla Finance, and Md Amir Hossain, its general manager and regional chief, among others, attended the prize giving ceremony.
