Robbers kidnap fishermen, loot trawlers in Patuakhali
Robbers kidnapped at least 25 fishermen and looted valuables including fishes, fuel, and cash from different fishing trawlers in the Bay of Bengal in Patuakhali early yesterday.
Quoting some fishermen who escaped the robbery, Alipur-Mohipur Fishing Trawler Businessmen Association President Ansar Mollah said a gang robbers attacked at least 20 fishing trawlers when those were engaged in fishing around 20km away from Kuakata sea beach.
Contacted, Lt Istiaque, station commander of Coast Gourd at Pathorghata of Barguna, said they were investigating the matter and would take necessary actions in this regard soon.
