Infant dies from Nipah virus
A 45-day-old boy infected with Nipah virus died on Saturday night while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.
The victim, Orko, son of Md Sagor of Pabna, had been suffering from high fever for the last few days.
The hospital sources said another patient, Taslima Begum, 60, of Natore, died from Nipah virus on Friday.
With the two, a total of nine among 13 patients had died from the virus since this January, the sources added.
