When memories are all you have…
On reading the feature "Daddy's little girl" by Ms. Fariha Shafi in your Star Campus issue of July 27, 2008, I was absolutely overwhelmed with grief. There was a lump in my throat and I became so depressed that I still can't get over from thinking how much the writer is missing her late lamented father.
I am a contented 65 year old man, having 2 children and 4 grand children but reading the article has revived my memories of what transpired after losing my father when I (eldest of his 4 children) was only a sixth grader at school. It has been a long and lone journey for me since then I am a senior citizen now but the brief joyful moments that I was able to spend with my father are still fresh as the morning dew!
The Almighty has been otherwise kind to us, four siblings, in view of the fact that we still have our dearest Mom with us, who has also filled in the void left behind by our late Abbajan.
May ALLAH grant all daddies and moms, peace, bliss and happiness in this world and hereafter.
