Fire hazard
Now we are living in a modern age, but are we really modern? We saw a devastating fire in BSEC Bhaban in 2007 and now the fire at Bashundhara City has once again exposed our weakness in fighting a big fire.
Our fire fighting equipments are not sufficient for this capital city with so many high-rise buildings. The fire service is not modern and they have no high-tech equipments and the fire fighters are not properly trained.
The government should attach due importance to the matter and build up a fire service with modern equipment and trained personnel. Otherwise, fire will remain a constant source of worry to city dwellers.
