Motorcycle rider dies after crashing into railing on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway

A young Bangladeshi working in Saudi Arabia died in a motorcycle accident near the Kuchiamora Bridge on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj this morning.

The deceased was identified as Hridoy Hossain, 27, of Abdullahpur village in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka, said Hasara Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Sohel Rana.

The pillion rider, Sajjad, 24, of Ghoramara area in Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan upazila, was injured.

He has been admitted to Sirajdikhan Upazila Health Complex.

Hridoy, who was riding the motorcycle, lost control of the vehicle on the slope of Kuchiamora Bridge, crashing into the railing.

Hridoy died on the spot, said Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Deputy Assistant Director Muhammad Shafiqul Islam.

The OC said the body has been handed over to Hridoy’s family after completing the initial procedures.
