Climate change deniers

Professor M Zahidul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, SAU, Dhaka
It is really shocking to learn from a recent mail of Ivan Frishberg, Climate Campaign Manager of 'Organising for Action' (USA), that there are 135 climate change deniers in Congress who refuse to believe that climate change is real, man-made, and dangerous. But today all across the United States, people are telling members of Congress that it's not okay to deny the science behind climate change. It's now a global concern. Many countries of the world including Bangladesh have already begun to experience the adverse effects of climate change. Natural disasters including drought, floods, and cyclone are on the increase. The agricultural production and food security is now under great threat. Immediate global and local actions are needed to combat climate change disasters. They should not deny the scientific truth. I would call upon the US Congress to accept the fact of climate change and its dangerous impacts on global environment and habitat.
