Moral lessons in textbooks
It is undoubtedly good news for us that we have got a new curriculum after 17 years. But we think some general but necessary things about real life should be included in the textbooks. We can make children aware about not wasting our natural as well as other resources. For example, there should be an essay explaining why we should not waste our valuable resources like gas by boiling water in gas burner for hours. Also, some real life stories of extraordinary honesty should be included in the textbooks like that of the expatriate taxi driver Abdul Halim who is working in Dubai and got a large amount of money and valuable diamond ornaments in his cab. But instead of keeping them to himself, he returned those to its owner. The education board should include such moral lessons in the school textbooks so that our next generation can learn some morals and ethics.
