Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman secures Dhaka-15 seat

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has won the Dhaka-15 constituency in the 13th parliamentary election, defeating his rival by a margin of 21,614 votes.

The result was announced by the Election Commission.

Shafiqur, who contested with “scales" (daripalla) secured 85,131 votes, while his closest competitor, BNP candidate Safiqul Islam Khan, received 63,517 votes.
