They aren't ashamed of defeat

Khizir Ahmed, Advocate, On e-mail
I was at Kathmandu from 4th to 6th September. A few days back the SAFF tournament commenced there and most of the players from participating countries were living at The Everest Hotel, Kathmandu. Their vibrant and active presence was noticeable. Bangladesh, like in many previous tournaments, faced defeat. On my way back home when I stood in the line at the immigration booth at the Kathmandu Airport, I found some of our players ahead of me carrying big luggage. I had to wait for a long time to pass the immigration because most of our players carried overweight luggage, thanks to their shopping spree. Even though they underperformed in the tournament, they were found merry-making. No sorrow or remorse was visible on their faces and their behaviour was rustic and impolite at the immigration. After boarding the plane they were roaming around and when asked to take seats by the cabin crew, our players rebuked them. Authorities concerned should take immediate steps to discipline them. Otherwise, it will be a sheer waste of time, energy and money.
