Power failures continue to pose problems in the ICC World T20 as yesterday's match between South Africa and England in Chittagong came to a grinding halt twice.
At 7:35 pm, the floodlight pole behind the media end blacked-out. Players were forced to leave the ground and the game resumed after ten minutes. At 8:10 pm, the same floodlight tripped again, which led to another 10-minute break.
Speaking to reporters BCB director AJM Nasir said, “The floodlights were running on four generators, one of which malfunctioned.
According to the venue manager, the floodlight then ran on a back-up line from Power Development Board. The second disruption at 8:10 pm took place due to a fluctuation in the voltage of the line.
